Tech Center Recognition Breakfast
 Awards given at Career & Tech breakfast
Eighteen Bismarck Tech Center students were admitted into the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) this spring. They were recognized for their academic achievements at a breakfast May 20th. These students, among other criteria, have completed two years of a career & technical program, have a 3.5 GPA, good attendance, and an instructor's recommendation. They are as follows:
Welding: Jesse Zander, Travis Johnson, Ben Boehm, Justin Heaton, and Mike Van Vleet. Auto Tech: Jordan Lopez. Auto Collision: Clancy Rangen, Darren Radke, and Troy Vossler. Carpentry: Cody Walker and Jarred Kowalski. Agriculture: Joe Schoenert and Jacob Thompson. Electronics: Alex Doll, Joe Taborsky, and Tom Hallendorff. Graphic/Digital Design: Chandra Heglund and Sarah Geiger. Six students who were inducted into the NTHS last year were recognized again this year: Abby Anderson, Teresa Blackcloud, Jayden Hanson, MacKenzie Kukla, David Rau and Dustin Traxel.
Also at the Bismarck Technical Center's annual recognition breakfast, one student in each career & technical area was honored as the Outstanding Student of the Year. Those chosen were Chris Schaefer, auto collision; Jordan Lopez, auto technology; Marcus Kelsh, aviation, Jarred Kowalski, carpentry; Thomas Hallendorff, electronics; Abby Anderson, graphic and digital design; Ben Boehm, welding, and Jake Thomsen, agriculture.
Other awards given that day include an ND State College of Science (NDSCS) Skills Scholarship to Alex Doll; the NDSCS Electronics Student of the Year to Tom Hallendorff, the Ken Hendrickson Scholarship to Clancy Rangen; the Kyle Thomas Scholarship to Chris Schaefer; and the Honorary Membership into the National Technical Honor Society to businessman Dave Farnsworth.
